Introduction

We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 45181) with AVI30316 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot – Visual Line of Sight) on the scope of registration. This is a Nationally Accredited course that is only offered as a VET in Schools program over a one year or two-year duration. The VET in Schools Program is either delivered at the school by The Institute for Drone Technology or the school has a third party arrangement with The Insititute to deliver the program on its behalf. In 2019, The Institute has a third party agreement with Upper Yarra Secondary College and Mount Clear College. We only provide this course in Victoria.

We are also a CASA accredited Training Provider for the Remote Pilot Licence Course.

A pre-training test is required to determine if students require additional support throughout the course. Trainers will discuss individual needs with students if required following assessment of the pre-training test.

Why do it?

This qualification is relevant to individuals operating remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) within visual line of sight (VLOS), below 400 feet above ground level (AGL), in day visual meteorological conditions (VMC), outside of controlled airspace, greater than 3 nautical miles from an aerodrome, outside of populous areas.

This course forms part of the Victorian Certificate of Education and can provide advantages for students in a number of industries where drone technology is being used for an increasing range of applications.
